We couldn’t let summer end without one more popsicle recipe! I love making homemade popsicles and this Strawberry Lime Popsicles recipes may be among the best. It’s so fresh and smooth and melts in your mouth. And the best part, you can enjoy this recipe all year!
When it comes to making homemade popsicle recipes, I always focus on fresh ingredients. It’s the perfect way to incorporate healthy ingredients into your kid’s favorite foods, and what kid doesn’t enjoy a popsicle!
This recipe starts with combining the strawberries with sugar, maple syrup and water. This heats up for about 20 minutes.
The strawberries will look like this when its ready. The sugar breaks down and makes the strawberries a little soupy.
This looks almost perfect but it’s not quite ready. More liquid needs to be added to guarantee the perfect popsicle combination. I added about 1 cup of water to the mixture. And you would be surprised, the water doesn’t water down the popsicle but makes the flavor stronger.
Then add about 2 teaspoons of lime zest to the top. This gives it a really fresh flavor.
I poured the mixture into my Zoku popsicle maker and it froze in less than 10 minutes. It’s really amazing how quickly you can make popsicles with this machine. You don’t have to wait for it to freeze in the freezer. I love it!!!
As you can see, the popsicle comes out perfect with this Zoku maker!
O course, you don’t need the Zoku maker to make this recipe. You can use your own personal popsicle molds or even the old fashion way with your ice cube tray and a toothpick! Your kids will just love having a special surprise treat.
I hope you all enjoyed your summer and look forward to fall, like me!!!
