Avocado Toast with Strawberries

Avocado Toast with Strawberries

I have a confession to make … I have never had avocado toast — not before this Avocado Toast with Strawberries recipe.

It’s strange — I have always loved avocados, even craved them during my pregnancy with my son. But I have never made avocado toast before…until today! And this Avocado Toast with Strawberries recipe is the perfect place to start.

Avocado Toast with Strawberries

This Avocado Toast with Strawberries recipe has one more ingredient that makes it special.

It’s like putting icing on a cake.

It’s balsalmic vinegar!

Avocado Toast with Strawberries e

Start with fresh strawberries and avocados. Cut these up into slices.

Toast your bread and add a little butter. What’s toast without dripping, melted butter…right?

Then start assembling your dish. Using a fork, smush up the avocados and lay flat on the toast. Then add your sliced strawberries.

Avocado Toast with Strawberries h

Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and you are ready to enjoy.

Avocado Toast with Strawberries

You will mostly taste the strawberries and balsamic vinegar with this recipe but the avocado gives you a smooth texture.

Avocado Toast with Strawberries

This dish is perfect for breakfast or any time of the day.  It also makes a great healthy, pick-me-up in the afternoon.

Avocado Toast with Strawberries

Ingredients:

  • Bread for toasting
  • Butter
  • Avocados
  • Strawberries
  • Balsalmic Vinegar

Directions:

  • Toast your bread and spread a litte butter for flavor
  • Slice and smush the avocados and lay flat on the toast
  • Add slices of strawberries to the top of the avocados
  • Drizzle with balsalmic vinegar

There are so many yummy variations of avocado toast. I can’t wait to try several of them including a Mediterranean Avocado Toast with Feta cheese. Doesn’t that sound amazing!

I’m so glad I started with this simple recipe. I really liked how the flavor of the strawberries and avocados offset the other. I also like the avocado texture a little chunky. I didn’t completely smush (love this technical term) the avocado just so I would have a little chunk. And the balsamic vinegar gives the toast some sophistication. I could see serving this dish in the evening with a glass of wine.
Enjoy!

Well done, yummy! By the way, it is believed that the seed of the avocado can also be used.

I am so on the fence with avocados. I see recipes with it often because they are loaded with nutrients. I think the sweetness from the strawberries will help balance the flavor for me. I will definitely try this.
