You know the saying, when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade (or something like that). Well when life gives you lemons and warm water, you get an unbelievable amount of benefits to your body. Lately I have been hearing a lot about why you should drink water with lemon every morning. So I started doing it about two months ago and feel great! No way to know exactly what it’s doing but my skin feels better and I feel healthy. You will need to drink this first thing on an empty stomach, before you have anything else in your system. It’s also important that you use warm purified or spring water.

-Provides the body with electrolytes which hydrate your body. Lemons contain a good amount of electrolytes such as potassium, calcium and magnesium.
-Good for the joints, reducing pain in the joints and muscles.
-Helps digestion. The citric acid in lemons interact with other enzymes and acids which easily stimulate the secretion of gastric juice and digestion.
-Helps the liver produce more enzymes.
-Cleanses the liver and stimulates it to release toxins.
-Helps fight infections of the respiratory tract, sore throats and inflammation of the tonsils.
-Helps regulate natural bowel movements.
-Protects the body from free radicals and strengthens the immune system.
-Aids in proper functioning of the nervous system.
-Cleanses blood, blood vessels and arteries.
-Helps lower blood pressure. A daily intake of one lemon can reduce high blood pressure by 10%.
-Creates an alkalizing effect in the body. It can help your body maintain a higher level of pH. The higher the pH, the more your body is able to fight diseases.
-Is good for the skin. Vitamin C in lemon, improves our skin by rejuvenating the body.
-Helps to dilute uric acid which leads to pain in the joints and gout.
-Helps dissolve gallstones, kidney stones, pancreatic stones, and calcium deposits.

-Helps with tooth pain and gingivitis.
-Prevents cancer. Lemons are a highly alkaline food. Multiple studies have found that cancer cannot thrive in an alkaline environment.
So you can use a warm cup of water and squeeze in half of the lemon.
Or if you use essential oils, like Young Living, you can use the lemon oil in the cup. In one cup of water use about 1-2 drops of lemon oil. Lemon oil is stronger than a fresh lemon, so don’t put too much in your cup.
